Congratulations to the Participants of the Athenians "Backwards meeting" on 11 November 2008

The "Backwards Evening" succeeded in discombobulating everyone very successfully!

Yes - It was wild, at sometimes impossible to follow yet everyone involved had a great deal of fun!!
Thank you to everyone who participated (particularly Keith, whose idea it was to run it) in the Backwards Evening last Tuesday. Great effort all.


So, we now need a regular classic meeting to balance out last week's chaotic reverse shennanigans, fun and tomfoolery!  AND who better to give this week's meeting the gravitas it requires?
Our GE, this Tuesday, is none other than the David Jones....
Not only did David win the Division TT and Humours Speech Category on 22 October 2008 (ie the London Final), BUT also on 9 November at the UK & Ireland Conference in Kilkenny he won the Table Topics category outright and came third in the Humourous speech category!!!!!!!!!!!!


Athenians is sincerely excited to have the equivalent of "London Toastmaster Contest Royalty", David, as our GE this coming Tuesday (18 November 2008).

That evening was a great laugh. Being the timekeeper was definitely fun, as I got to report on most people during the course of the evening. It was funny giving Jess the task of pretending to be scared of an imaginary mouse and giving Jacyntha the task of coming up on stage doing backflips! Roll on the next backwards evening!
