London Athenians SUMMER PARTY - 1st August 2009

The Summer Event of your calendar is happening on Saturday 1st August from 6pm.    The Athenians Summer Party will be held at Chris Jolly's home in Wimbledon.

 

The Party will be combined with West London Speakers.

As our two clubs are especially interesting because of our diverse international membership this party is also a celebration of the wonderful food which comes from so many countries.

 

Word of the day:           “Smorgasbord”        meaning

“A buffet meal offering a variety of foods and dishes”

 

Last year we shared and enjoyed 20 savoury dishes and 18 delicious puddings from 15 countries.  For each person who attends we are asking you to bring a dish.  Enough for six people -- to share with the rest of the group.  If you have a national dish that would be wonderful.

 

Mahin Driskill is coordinating the food so please conact her to let her know what sort of dish you are bringing. 

 

If you would like to drink beer or wine.  Please bring your own.

 

There is a collection of £3 per head to provide a glass of refreshing Pimms, as well as soft drinks, water, ice, and disposable plates/cutlery etc. If you would like to come please be sure to let  Amanda Warwick   know so that she can add your name to the list “before the cut off date. Tuesday July 28th”  

 

Friends and guests.

You are welcome to bring a partner or close friend, especially if they have an interest in Toastmasters.  They too would be expected to pay the £3 cover charge and to bring a suitable dish.
